Thread: How Long Before Your First Nick on a New Strop?

I cut my first strop 3 years ago 2 times , then i watch mr Lynn Abrams video . I will never forget theese word - fast is not the key , steady rithm is the key .
Since then i try many things , stroping techniques . I love the X stroke . But never again i cut strop 1 or 2 times nicks , so tiny that they dissapear with vigourous rubbing . Till this very present day i never rush my stroping . It accelerates it self slowly with my experience but i never go for 50 hits in the minute .
It never takes me more that 5 or 6 minutes to make 120 - 150 - 200 hits . im not count them , i always try the edge , in honing also .
All this never stops me to strop for an hour or so when i got time for my preciouss beautys .
Is it such thing as overstroping ?
