Wow, i didn't think i'd get so many replies! It's a mountain mike strop with a linen bit and a mahogany coloured latigo leather. The linen has a much chunkier weave than the linen on my old strop. I'm not sure what I make of that yet, but it seems ok so far. The leather's smoother than the old one and generally better quality and the rings at the end of the two parts sound great when they ding together. It's the width that makes all the difference though, it's so much easier and a more even result. I used to find the middle of the blade was nice and smoothe and the ends were not, using the cross pattern method on a narrow strop. I chose this one cos it was on a Norwegian site, and shipping from another country would have pushed the price a little over what I was willing to spend. I'll get a pic up later. Thanks for the interest guys!
