That thing should render angel's wings fluttering around it to polish the bevel, if price is correct
    (as-mentioned).

I have a shell cordovan watch strap. It's amazing how leather so soft and pliable is so tough. This thing is about 15 years old, yet where the leather bends around the buckle, there is no crinkle that usually develops when leather is folded back and forth. I've used the same hole for the buckle tang the whole time, yet it is not elongated. I guess that's why cordovan strops and shoes cost so much.

Maybe that's why you got a 67% discount. A second?

I have a pair of Cordovan Shoes I bought probably 25 years ago and I think they have gotten better looking as the years have progressed. Too bad I can't say the same for me-har har.

Yea the strop is two different pieces of leather stuck together, I'm not sure why. The shell cordovan is much thinner than say a kanyama. It's finally starting to break in, and has an amazing draw. It's silky smooth and seems to only get better every time I use it. Unless you are very wealthy and can afford a $600 strop, I think I'd recommend a kanyama. For the price I actually paid, I couldn't be happier.

Kanayama is not Shell Cordovan, it is Cordovan which is the tanning process but uses horsehide which is thicker but cheaper. Your strop is Shell Cordovan by Horween and would be 1.8 -2mm thick. Pegasus Ravens do have a backing for more rigidity according to their website.

Ah thanks for clearing that up. I'm no leather expert, and thought shell and cordovan were synonymous.

Now I'm confused. I thought Cordovan was a color and finish and all shell cordovan was from a horse.

You think you are confused, I'm still trying to figure out when the raven turned into a horse.
