What ever else that person may know about, he does NOT know about razors. Will the stitching hurt an edge? probably not if you have a light touch, but if you don't, its likely they will fail to bring you any joy. Wont damage the blade itself, but probably degrade the shaving edge.

Please Heed the Excellent advice of these Gents, they have your Best shave in Mind, you Won't get that flailing around, read the tutorials and watch the video's , they help alot.
