Great to see Tony has continued making strops! I have had one for years. When I purchased my Latigo he included a high quality "practice strop" that made a wonderful strop for traveling. I have a lot of strops and his are the best.

A beautiful strop fot sure. He creates beautiful product. Take it easy as you learn the stropping techniques. Strongly recommend you practice with a butter knife. It takes time to become proficient so don't rush. Good luck you've got a wonderful strop.

Tony's strops are excellent. As stated earlier, they can be different though. I once had one of his steerhide strops. Great strop. Later replaced it with his "Notovan". Difference in speed was like night and day. Still trying to figure which I prefer.

Am I the only one who has had less than a great experience with Tony Miller?
Yes, he builds a nice strop, with good workmanship, but it's a modular strop. This should be an advantage, and in the case of the SRD strops, it is, because replacement items of differing leathers and secondary components are readily available ... Not so with Mr. Miller.
I bought an Heirloom Latigo years ago, when it was all Tony offered, and he claimed, the best leather for the task. That may have been so for some, but it was not for me. I disliked the Latigo .. The draw was so heavy it could pull a razor from my hand while stropping. So I thought, should I buy another strop, or just buy a different leather component from Tony? It should be no problem for a leather artisan to get another style of leather and cut it to fit, right? WRONG! Mr. Miller dealt in Latigo, period, and was unwilling to supply anything else. So, I licked my wounds and bought an SRD. Stropped away happily while my highly vaunted Tony Miller hung in the closet, where it still resides today!
So yes, Tony Miller makes a nice strop, but not any nicer than a myriad of others. I have many Miller strops here that I love, but they're by Neil Miller, unfortunately passed. A Tony Miller strop is nice, if one never needs service down the road... Because you may, or may not be able to get it!
