Yep ...that 100 bucks in the tank hurt.....cost me 50.00 in fuel just to get to the fishing hole and back home... That 3.75 gallon prices suck

The cheapest one is from Fendrihans it's 89$ free shipping I just purchased it as my 2nd Kanayama to see if it has an differences or defects because it's an oddball number they have another oddball number for 135$ they are the 2196 an the 6300 an all the other kanayamas besides the #3 are in the 10000s.

My 30k that I bought has a single defect an that is sanding marks that you can feel in the leather now I didn't notice them right away an it's level with the Kanayama logo at the bottom I don't strop there anyway so for that reason it doesn't bother me. It's still one of the best strops I own an I do own a few I would recommend them still to anyone an everyone just like I have done because they're that well built an they feel incredible the stropping on one is silky smooth with almost no draw an at the same time the perfect amount if that makes sense.

Nice post. I was having a bit of difficulty with them, going from 3 inches to 2.5 was really bothering me. So I asked Lynn if using the wiper blade method with a 2.5 was acceptable. He said yes, so I went at it. With the wiper blade method it is a breeze to use and the razor edge ends up really nice.

I am actually preferring my Kanayama, scrupleworks, and Neil Miller strops at 2.5 wide over my 3 inch wide strops.

Yeah I seem to prefer the 2"-2.5" strops over the 3" my first strop was a 3" that I nicked to hell don't remember what brand I gave it to my brother after I sanded the nicks out of it an I nicked the crap out of that thing all the time went to a 2" wide Illinois #206 an everything was great purchased another 3" nicked it all to hell bought another 3" Strop it was a Pegasus (got one hell of a deal) no nicks until I showed off to my brother (when I was giving him the other 3") now it has nicks they are very small ones but all my 3" strops have/get nicks all my 2"-2.5" strops are nick free not sure why I have problems with those 3 inchers but I do.

I now have the 30k I'm waiting on my 2196 an I may purchase the suede and another piece of linen because I found out that JNS sells both replacements replacement and I kinda wanna try his suede because I like the suede on my Pegasus.

I got the suede attachment for my 30k and 6300. It is a nice addition. I used them to replace the canvas until I get them a bit softer. I washed them and they came out pretty nice, but I think I can get them softer.

You won't regret getting the suede.
