Well I have dry linen and "broke" it in over my shower curtain rod. Its more supple than before so I may do that a few more times before use. Also added some conditioner to the leather, I got ahead of myself and added to the face side without moistening the leather first. Back side I did water first then conditioner. So im gonna let that sit for a couple days then add more.

Well this is after last 2 days of applying conditioner. Its so dark in photos because I had just put some on. After it absorbs it lightens. Getting more supple already long way to go though I believe

Ok well im not done with conditioning but as far as supple I've been using my srd Latigo for comparison and im close I feel. The leather is way more pliable than before. Just tried 2 razors and the linen is fast! The leather even more so, left my edge nicely polished which oddly my srd strop does not... but im stoked about this baby she is like running a blade on a piece of glass. Thank you to all that chimed in and gave advice along the way.

I like Ballistol to treat my strops. You can get it at gun shope & Gander Mountain now carries it. Ballistol works for many things like a gun lube, light machine lube, rust remover, Leather treatment. I need to go to Gander Moutain & get a new can this week. It's not real cheap but it works.
I see their is a Gander Mountain in Cedar Rapids.

Just saw USA Knife Maker Supply also sells it. They have lots of cool stuff for knives & razors. Just go to Ballistol.com & they cam help you find a seller in your area.

Yup, Ballistol is great stuff for leather and is a great water soluble lubricant for honing, a couple drops, use with water in place of Smith’s.

Locally, most Ace hardware stores, as well as Sporting Goods stores that carry firearms and ammo carry it.

You don’t need much and a can will last a long time. To a strop you should not apply more than, a ¼ teaspoon at a time.

I checked the Ace web site & they didn't list Ballistol but it might be at some stores.
