You can use the small but it takes twice as many laps. When you use the medium, you don't have to go top to bottom. I use about 3/4 of the strop. I also find with the Livi strop that I like to strop slower. You get an amazing feel when using the skin side. I feel it is the best strop system on the market. I am sure there are plenty who will disagree. The chromium oxide on fine linen will bring an edge back with 5-10 laps. 20 laps on the skin side puts a great shine on the blade and a very smooth shave. Check your edge before then after and you will see how nice the edge looks. Got to Mastro Livi's web page, he has stropping videos that help.

    Great info -- thanks!

Yes, have seen his stropping videos. He uses a very different technique.

Sounds like a medium Livi loom strop is in my future!

jkatzman you are correct in saying that there are "plenty who will disagree". Like almost every item available to wet shavers it all comes down to the experienced shaver's personal preference. And that is as it should be. I would not trade away my Abrams modular for any Livi strop.
