    The question of the 3rd piece. It is horse hide, 68mm wide same as the cordovan leather. Note that the canvas piece is 65mm wide, and presents in Red Imp livery. Back to the other piece. It is suede, and is soft velvety and running the razor over it is a pleasure I enjoy. Right, does it do anything to the edge? Or has it got some tangible effect on your shave?. The answer is probably 'no.' however I find that in my stropping routine, using all 3 pieces gives your razor a complete feel to it. My routine us 20 canvas 30 suede and 100 on the cordovan. I've stuck with that routine for over 8 months now and I won't be changing a thing. There is no heaven without Kanayama strops....

    No. It is like a suede shoe or jacket surface in feel. Of course that is the surface. It is a durable piece of kit.

    This thread just cost me the price of a new 60000. My strop AD has been temporarily abated.
