What is a good newbie strop?
I am just getting started and am looking for a good strop to start with, but won't break the bank....Especially if I am going to possibly damage it with learning. I also don't want to ruin the razor too with something too cheap...

Sounds good....I know that from reading that all strops are not alike...is there a huge difference in the $20 one over at ruprazor and the ones you see on Ebay? I have also learned from reading to stay away from Zeepk brand of anything so there shouldn't be problems there, but there are other stops out there on Ebay that I have seen and was curious to know if they will ruin my razors? Thanks for the replies so far...

Bubba4422,
Tony Miller's strops are, in my opinion, unsurpassed for quality + value. That being said, his strops appear to be so popular that he is temporarily out-of-stock.
If you need a cheap beginner's strop asap, check the following link:

the illinois strops are good and inexpensive, and come with canvas component, which i think is important.

Thanked: 48if i had to do it all over agin i would go straight to tony miller. you will save money and time in the long run.if you get a strop from e-bay or a cheap strop from someone else every time you feel that things are not going well you will wonder, is it me? or my equipment??tony will sell you a practice strop for 7 dollars over the price of your strop. i cant say how good it is (didnt take him up on the offer) but i would bet that a reject from tony will beat a worn out ebay special.you will never have to buy another strop
