Another Premium 3 user here--loads of draw but very "soft" feeling if that makes any sense (not sure it does even to me.)

The draw also increases as you go due to friction heating, so much so that you sort of have to be careful. I watch my speed on this one. The leather is a little thin, so nicks could be an issue if you did manage. Produces great results & a very nice looking strop! If you like draw, go for it; you won't be disappointed!

I think I'll go with the III, then... If worst comes to worst, I can always just buy a I in the future...

I have a Premium I. It has a medium draw. More than TM Horse and less than latigo. I dislike strops that have excessive draw, or draw that varies across the surface, or draw that varies with humidity and temperature. The Premium I is vey consistent.

Thanks, Matt, I talked to Mr. Abrams, and he recommended the Premium I, too, since the Bridle has a very refined draw, which pulls just a tad more than Latigo, but is more... I dunno... Velvety? And the Premium I pulls less than Latigo, or bridle, and feels like a thouroughly broken in Horsehide -If I understand correctly-, which means it would make a perfect finishing strop.

    Premium I it is!

    Thanks guys!

+1 This is exactly my take on the premium 1 as well and why I like it. I have a hard time with a lot of draw since I try and use a light touch. A lot of draw feels like it will pull the razor out of my hand and I have to really work to control it. YMMV.

Well, I Love my Latigo, and I love my Bridle, and I love my Horsehide.. My bridle is like a bit heavier latigo, with a lighter feel... if that makes sense.. It draws harder, but feels smoother... And the Premium I should compliment that great!

    Thanks again

Ahso .... a fellow strop acquisition disorder sufferer. Well I have the Premium 1, a couple of TM top of the line strops and a dozen vintage strops. I recently couldn't help myself and got a Keith De Grau signature and a Chicago Special from HandAmerican.

These are wild strops. Like anything Keith makes they are top of the line in quality and workmanship. They are very stiff because you have two regular thickness strops glued back to back. They are sort of like stropping on a board but they are really gorgeous and I will be working with them to try and figure where they fit in. If your a strop freak put them on your to get list for sure.

Oh, damn you, Jimmy. Damn you and your wretched temptations. I have more of StropAD than anything else... I have more strops than razors, soaps, creams, and brushes put together (so far)... I find strops interesting, just the different draws, makes, feels, etc....

Thanks for spending my money >.<

And thanks for the help. Guess I'll go with the Premium I and check out some HandAmerican strops >.>
