    Default First home made strop.

Nothing special. Just wanted to try making something small to test the leather I plan to use for a larger one. Nice draw, covered with denim on the reverse side. About 2x14, not counting the doubled area with the Chicago bolts. Getting it broken it pretty well. Win.

This piece is just shy of 1/4" thick. Normal tooling leather, vegetable tanned. I was given this piece from the scrap bin for free. Try to find a leather worker at a flea market or something of the sort.

The huge brass horse lead on the end was too cumbersome, so I replaced it with a 1.5" D ring. Good to go. I am just watching TV and working on breaking it in a bit right now. Compared to what I was using, this thing works splendidly.
