Thanked: 480Here I thought the D-rings were so we could bridle up the horse with it and strop while we ride!
Lumberjack, I am familiar with your site. Did you know we lost another Coney Stong man out in Brooklyn a few months back? I wonder if he used straights? (he was a clean shaven gent)

Thanked: 2Yeah, if I'd have known that the Dee rings were for that use I would not have bought them. I like the handles. I thought the Dee rings were an integral part of the strop, silly me!
Magpie, you "lost" another strongman? What happened? Who are you referring to?

Lumberjack,
I speak of the great Joe Rollino. Hit by a car back in January.
At age 104, he was still going strong! One can only wonder how much longer he would have went on. Are there any left now besides Slim?

Thanked: 2I do remember Joe, that was tragic. To live the life he lived and get struck by a car was truly saddening. Of the older generation, no, I think Slim Farman is one of the last.
