Well today Mr Mailman brought my paddle strop. First thoughts, man this is very cool. I ordered it with the extra horse hide piece. It is my first horse hide of any kind. The draw will take some getting use to.

I will have more time to play with it tomorrow but I am very impressed with this great (f#$%^ cool) product.

I used it for a couple of months.I like the horsehide better. just a personal choice.

I used the horse hide this week-end and man is it nice. I love this strop.
Waiting to check out the english bridal pad.

I've been using a paddle strop from Woodcraft that's covered in fine suede. Treated with chrom-ox, it works pretty well for $20.

I take the pads off the paddle and put the whole thing on a shelf with the leather pads under the paddle. I've put CrOx and diamond sprays on the the two felt pads. I just wrap them loosely in a plastic bag and keep them on a shelf.

The English Bridal pad can be used for everyday stropping 40-60 strokes. It is a top performer and also very popular in the hanging strops.
