    Just a thought. In the 40's there used to be a retractable traveling strop. It worked similar to a car seatbelt and the strop was made of the same material. One end hung on a doorknob and you held the other end as you stropped. Once you finished, the strop retracted to be put away. Try a seatbelt with a fine weave.

    theres a few of the members here that has gotten a vinyl section on a cheap strop they bought. Usually crap but thats due to cupping
    maybe someone still hold on to one of those thats not totally ruined and will let it go cheap(reed free or nominel fee)
