Tony Miller makes Vegan (synthetic leather) strops. They haven't been available for a while, but I just checked his site and they'll be available Sept 1. You can check it out here: 3" Artisan Synthetic Vegan Friendly Strop - The Well Shaved Gentleman The Heirloom Razor Strop Company.

Thanked: 0you are a hero! I bought a filly strop to start out (since I am sure I am going to ruin it with nicks and cuts well learning). But being vegan I can't justify buying a second strop made of leather (if there is other options out there) once I know I won't wreck it.

Thanked: 983Just a thought, but could you knock one up out of vinyl? You know, like the vinyl used as furniture covering or fake leather jackets. It might work.

Yea you could get a naugahyde strop. I don't think they have to kill the Nauga's do they?
There are many things guys use from old belts to nylon webbing and cloth and newspapers to your own skin.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I think if you search the web there are several places to get vegan strops. Tony Miller is advertising them for Sept.Delivery.

Just a thought..I am vegan, not by choice, and I use leather. I believe that the use of the leftovers from the meat processing for products is totally within the stated limits of vegetarianism. Why waste a death??
