Default Mixing pastes (Dovo green and Red)

As a good noob, i put the Dovo green paste on a Dovo russian leather strop, thinking about using it after the Norton 8k, before realizing the paste is actually coarser. Now i'm about to start using chinese wetstone->black Dovo->chromium oxide powder, and since i also got the red paste i was thinking about using it to refresh the razor and delay the Norton 8k for a while.

Problem is space, and i would like to recover that side of the strop with green Dovo. I've read the abrasive will never wear off, but if i clean it, do the lather and bottle maintenance routine, and then apply red Dovo paste to it, would it be so bad? It will have both 6 and 3 micron grain on it.

Forget mixing pastes... The other side of the strap is not "soft", so from what i read i have to sand it to make it usable. So, for the main side, what about sanding to remove the green dovo paste?

It could work but never thought to try sanding to get rid of paste before so can't tell you for sure if it will work. Also you can apply the paste to rough leather and get good result. I actually like the paste on rough leather better then on smooth leather.

    Default Removing paste

I have put the wrong pastes on strops before, and found that using a strop conditioning paste or liquid does take a good deal off. I would use a white cloth, apply, and wipe off, repeating until the paste colors no longer come off the stop. I can't say that all of the grit will be gone for certain, but whatever remains probably won't be enough to make much difference.
