I don't have a Kanayama, so I can't comment to them at all. Hopefully, Lynn will be mailing one or four to try soon

BUT, I have used several Horsehide strops before and I've found them to all need a lot of use before they provide anything approaching what I consider to be enough draw. I'm talking months, not weeks or days. I hope the Kanayama is different, one day, I'd like to buy one.

I pretty much reserve my Kanayama 80k for my full hollow razors. I always warm the strop with the palm of my hand as recommended and find the draw to be what I would call light after 80 or so uses and it is exactly what I want for the hollow ground razors. For all others, I use a variety of strops from a heavy draw well seasoned SRD latigo, a TM horsehide and a Horween cordovan to finish. I have a new Neil Miller cordovan in the works.
