    what surfaces have you tried for this? I don't own anything as far as paddle strops, felt, or balsa are concerned which is why I mentioned the sham wow. I heard you can use paper?

    Leather and wood. It gives the leather a lot of draw, a bit too much to my taste. No draw when used on the wood.
