If you like using the henway you should use it with a Grecian urn

I have some Magic absorbent kitchen towels. They are smaller but seem to be made of the same kind of material thick, super compressed, stiff non woven fabric? I am totally new and don't have a proper strop yet. I am scouring my stash of things to put together some kind of set up until I can get a real one. Could I use this as a start?

Absolutely! I use a Trader Joe's branded shamwow-type kitchen towel from my $6 Austro-Hungarian Swaty knockoff, one side pasted with toothpaste. Then I 'finish' on newspaper. I've put a very smooth, mirror edge on my DA66 using this method. It cost $0, actually works, and is a great way to master the stropping motion without trashing a latigo. Seriously, you will master it, because it will take many, many laps to get there. When I strike it rich I'll upgrade but for now this is fine.

i ordered shamwow about two years ago to dry my car after washing it. they are TERRIBLE for drying. they leave streaks everywhere and barely pick up the water. hopefully i can find a use for it with my razor.
i only bought them because the commercials were so catchy.
