I thought the Shamwow had a shaggy surface? Is this really good for stropping? I'm just used to seeing very smooth surfaces used.

ShamWow clothes are made out of a rayon sort of material which is woven in a certain way to make it feel a bit like felt. When wet, it becomes a soft leathery material.

I would think it would be quite similar to stropping on a felt component. Kudos to you for trying out something new and glad it worked for you.

I'm actually quite surprised that more people don't use a henway in their progression. It really fills the gap between hones and strops.Never hard of a Shamwow .... I thought maybe you were talking about a henway .
