    Default BENCH STROP

Can an old leather jacket be used to make a strop or does the leather have to be stiff?
Does what kind of leather matter for a pasted strop?

I don't see why not. I haven't used something like that but glued to a flat surface it would be fine IMO. Certainly worth a try.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It should work, provided you pull the leather taught.

    Grizzley1,

I used an old Sam Browne belt to make a bench strop in the 1990s and it worked well.

Have at it and let is know how you got on

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ
