+1 to that....That's exactly what I did with a strop I cut. (With some help from my friends, Thanks Kelly)

P.S. Never strop distracted or angry....

I'm a newbie and have put a couple of small nicks in my strop. Luckily, I just thinly sliced the leather and didn't cut it all the way off. I keep a couple of CA adhesives around for different things and I used the thin version to fix the strop. No need to sand or anything like that. The thin glue penetrates the leather and I used the flat side of a small finishing nail to hold it for a couple of seconds. It comes in different viscosities and the thin one is best for this job.

Be very careful if you use the glue. It sets very quickly and is very strong. If you use your finger to put pressure on the strop, I'll guarantee you'll be walking around with a strop on your finger. If you glue your finger, acetone will remove it if applied quick enough. Otherwise, a double-edge razor blade and removal of the top layer of skin. The stuff will penetrate your skin. Super glue would probably work but I don't know if it comes in the same thin viscosity.

Just a very small amount, don't soak, just cover the spot lightly. I briskly wipe with paper towel when finished should remove any excess, but don't leave the towel on long enough to stick.

Buy Instant Bond CA Adhesive, Thin 2 oz at Woodcraft.com
