Thanked: 0Zeepk strops
I ran across a strop that costs just under $20 here: http://zeepk.com/zeprlest.html
How do they compare against, say an IL #127 or #206 strop?

Avoid!
Seriously, anything with Zeepk written on it is going to be suckier than a Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Don't skimp on your strop, you razor and face will thank you for it!The Illinois strops a good and will perform well, you'd be much better off with one of those.
As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Zeepk strops are cheap because they're made from extract of pure Empire blend banana skin, not leather..!I believe their blades are made from either pig iron or recycled tin foil, I forget which.

Thanked: 0What, theyre made from some substance even worse than Naugahyde?!
Eww. Well, i certainly wouldn't want my razor to scream in agony with that thing in the same *building*.
I was looking at affordable strops and it seems that the Illinois #206 would fit the bill nicely and not break the bank. If i nick or cut it I wouldn't feel as bad as if i nicked a $75 strop.
I expect this strop to get nicked/cut because im just starting out.

Thanked: 993Consider also that SRD has replaceable materials. If you knick your Premium I, you are able to purchase a new piece of leather for it, or another type if you choose. This may be more affordable in the long run than having a strop on your shelf that you paid $$ for and never use.
Just my two cents.

Search zeepk here and you will find some posts that explain just how bad the products really are.

If I may, I have both an old Zeepk strop from when I first gon the idea about using a straight razor and the #206 Illinois, and BELIEVE ME, if there is a choice, BUY THE ILLINOIS 206!!!
If not that, than starshaving on e-bay sells some very fine strops[I have found] at very very good prices and Ron will treat you vey fairly and ships quickly, which is a big bonus in my estimation.
File that in the for what its' worth Dept.
tinkersd, as always.
