Thanked: 286crox spray on felt from srd
i decided to try the srd cr.ox spray from srd on felt , atached to srd modular paddle. I'd be interested in hearing how others have found it?
I was very impressed. this the most efective cro.ox (spray) i have tryed. i have used other cronium oxides and while they work fine the spray was far better in experiance. the spray is easy to apply and it seems to gel well with the felt, producing a silky smooth edge with nice keeness. if any one is considering trying it, you won't be disapointed.

+ 1 on the above. SRD's spray makes it much easier to apply evenly. I use it on their felt modular pad, felt hanging and balsa. Love them all.

I have the SRD modular paddle strop, and I applied 0.5 micron CrOx spray to one of the hard wool felt pads, but I haven't been able to get much benefit from it yet. How much do you spray on, and how many strokes are you using? After how many uses should I reapply it?
I ask this because I've only been able to get noticeable results from the 0.5 micron diamond spray on the other felt pad, but I'm leery of doing that too often. I've heard that it's best to use CrOx a couple of times first before moving on the the more aggressive diamond spray.
I want to touch up my razor either tonight or tomorrow, so I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks.

SlowRain, you only need a light application of the CrOx (any CrOx, not just the SRD spray). I use about ten passes on the paddle to freshen up a blade, but typically I might go ten w/ diamond and maybe ten with CrOx. If the blade is "almost there" I might only use CrOx. Bear in mind that your razor may have reached a point where it would benefit from a few strokes on a finishing hone followed by the Mod Paddle with sprayed felt pads.

Submicron bits Diamond or CrOx are not going to sharpen
an edge so much as smooth an already sharp edge. You
can use light visits to pasted felt/ canvas with either sub-micron
spray a couple times a week. Some folk do it every day.
The most effective use is after touching up on a hone. It is the
rare hone that leaves a razor as smooth as CrOx.
By some accounts CrOx will remove steel as fast as
diamond i.e. there is not a lot of difference between
0.5 micron diamond and 0.5 CrOx. Note, both will wipe
thin layers of steel and iron oxide from the edge which will
further charge the felt for you. These additions will also polish
the edge but finer.
Tell us more about your touch-up process.

Thanks, guys.
My touch-up process is simply to give about 5-10 passes on the diamond-on-felt pad every couple of weeks. It's been about two months since I had it honed. I took it to the diamond pad about a month ago because I felt it needed a little help after that honing.
I'll give it 10 passes on the CrOx-on-felt pad before my next shave and see how that works.
(If it matters, my razor is one of the new Boker Edelweiss 5/8.)

I use CrOx on felt with the modular strop as well, with great results. I use just enough to make the felt am even light green color.
