Very nice - I had to replace the leather from my first strop b/c the nicks were too deep but I'll keep your method in mind for the next time!

I had good luck with Tandy's Veg tanned leather. If you can, find the surplus/ discontinued, and scratch and dent store of theirs.
At the same time, buy some edge finishing compound. works a treat for keeping the edges of a strop nice and clean.
I bought 4foot lengths of 4" wide for 5$ each.
Cheers!

I was so ashamed of my first strop after all the nicks and sanding to smooth them out that when I bought a new one I thru the old one away. I didn't want to be reminded of the beginning of learning to strop.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 171A leopard can't hide its spots, or so the saying goes.
But it appears a leopard can get new spots alright.
