    That may have been your experience but that may not apply to all. A strop is not just a piece of leather, if it is quality it is damn good leather, it will also have some kind of fabric component to compliment it. The strops that do not have the fabric component are as you said "pieces of leather' and nothing else. Quality is not measured in dollars and cents and there are plenty of options out there.

    I am with Maxi in i prefer more draw. For me it is nothing to do with edge but the lack of resistance when stropping is unappealing to me. It makes me feel like i am not doing it or not doing it right. This is probably a result of my first strop was med- to heavy on the draw.
