Thanked: 51I have a latigo strop that leaves leather and oil on the blade. I just wipe it off and don't worry about it.

Thanked: 2209May I suggest that you take a glass bottle and start rubbing the strop on the smooth side. This will "burnish" the leather and leave it smoother and a tighter surface. 200-300 roundtrip laps then see if you need any more. Post your results please.
