Default A wonderfull gift, from a very old man

Living in a retirement community I meet all kinds of fantastic elderly people.
Old fella that lives down the street was a barber here in my town for decades,he just turned 93.
He calls me up and says: I got a trade for ya Bill, come over and change the damn flouro bulbs in my kitchen and you can have my strop,Gordon says I, be right over,I need nothing in return to do the deed,he says, I have not used it since the 50s,these strops were the best money could buy when I ran my shop, they cost 12 bux, sometimes I did not make 12 bux in a day,I want you to have it.
Did not expect much,He gave me his strop, was well used but has not a mark on it,not even a hint of a cut.
Is an Aberdeen scotch shell,4mm thick,as supple as can be,the cloth componante is pure heavy silk.
He said just rub on it when you think about it,do not put any crap on it.

Most of us can only dream of such an opportunity. This strop can talk to you well at least the man who used it so often can talk to you. I learned a great deal from a wonderful elderly gentleman while I was still a teen. He had lived his entire life in my town. A sip of ginger brandy on a cold evening could reveal the origins of life in my locale back nearly four generations. You are very fortunate to have such a friend.

New life for a beautiful old strop. It does not get much better in wetshaving world. No doubt the Gentleman who gifted you the strop feels a little better about an important piece of his working life. Enjoy.

Maybe... just maybe, you could find someone who would come in and give him a straight shave. Using his old strop to condition the razor... If he would like that?
