    You can't use the same strop twice in a row; you have to rest it, same as you have to rest your razor. You also have to rest your brush, creams, soaps, soap bowls, aftershaves, balms...

    This. See also fly rods/reels, guns, watches, skis, pipes, things that go fast. (I'd say women, too but if my wife finds this I'm a dead man).

    Welcome to the forum! Great "starter post".

    I'm also a fan of keeping the strop out of the bathroom. Keeping it away from water and such.
