Thanked: 2Strop Mount
I built this simple strop mount with parts from a local hardware store. Made it simple, but innovative with some functional variations. It allows me to achieve a few different angles for stropping and a solid stationary mount primarily. Just some basic drilling and countersinking on both sides to keep everything flush. It is solid on the wall with two coarse screws placed into a stud. I also got to use some leftover paint I had to give it a nice modern look. With the hardware and pre-made oval wooden plate I think I spent $12.
I have a large walk-in closet that I prefer to strop in as opposed to my bathroom. This keeps my black leather strop clean and dry; away from splashed water and the general busy morning routine. I like a lot of room when stropping without having to worry about others trafficking through. As opposed to a hook or some random object that is either not very solid or too high, this is the way to go. I highly recommend making yourself a quality strop mount for very little time and money. I love this and it will save me time. Cheers!

Nice! Mine hang from leather boot laces tied to a wire shelf in the closet.

I use zip ties on a door knob and finally put an eye bolt into a door jamb for my main wheel.

I put a heavy duty[#10] plastic anchor in the wall next to the sink and screwed in a fairly stout cup hook, seems just the right height and stays secure these last 3 years!! [not nearly as fancy as your, by the way!]

Nice job Rosco.
I hang 3 of my strops on the wall next to the actual toilet area of my bathroom.
And my Kanayama hangs from the front of my sink cabinetry with a brass strop hook you can find online at boat and marine supply stores. It is solid brass. The screw holes are a touch to small so I drilled them out a touch to use a stronger brass screw for a stronger attachment.

LOL, Bahahahahaha ... why would you only have one blade? Or only one car!!??
All joking aside - you don't need more than one strop. I am actually jealous of the guys who use but one strop, and a mere couple of razors. But different strops have different feels, and like anything else - if you have the cash and the space, a different strop for different moods or purposes is a nice thing to have.David
