Just think of it as stropping on a strop covered in butter.

In case you don't know it, Mastro Livi recommends using lighter fluid to clean the leather and linen. Works great and I've used it on other strops.

Question for you guys that refresh your edges with crox side. I have tried it several times and I have found it makes my edges real harsh with just ten strokes. Compared to other forms of crhronium oxide I have such has hand Americans crux witch leaves much smoother edge.

Mastro Livi cakes his strops with CrOx, I too find my usual lap count with my Livi loom to provide a harsh edge. I got as much CrOx off as I could by rubbing it with a kitchen towel, basically keep going until fresh kitchen towel dosnt turn green. 10 laps after this and your good to go.

Iwasaki recommended gasoline! I think lighter fluid or low odor mineral spirits a much better suggestion.

    Cheers, Steve
