    :-)
Yes, thanks for pointing that out. This thread is more or less about how these unique strops are made & less about whether we think they're worth the money. I remember reading a Jnat thread once that promptly turned into an "I like a coticule/Thurri/pasted strop edge" argument instead of talking about Jnats. Let's try & keep this one about Kanayama strop making, shall we?

Interesting article jimmy. Interesting to see jimR's interest in the strops. Didn't he end up selling them online?

Yes he did. He got away from it and seems to have drifted away from this forum, if not from an interest in wet shaving in general. Happens to the best of us. Something new comes down the pike.

Never said they were all the same, they are all differant. The end point (a properly stropped blade) is the same with any of them.

JimR was still active late 2011. I bought an etched blade Geneva from him at that time.

New comes indeed down the pike once in a while; in JimR's case it was his Title changing from 'Husband' to 'Daddy'. Same happened to me last year, our boy arrived and I hardly ever visited a forum until recently.

This is all I could find about the video: • View topic - Japanese TV Show Wants Kanayama Strop Owners in NYC Area

TstebinsB is or was a member here or on Badger and Blade. He hasn't posted for a while. He may know how to get the video.

Anyone here a member of shavemyface and willing to contact him?

I haven't been on B&B in quite some time however he was having issues with his sales and then went MIA.
