Nah. We don't have any. Don't need it anymore with our newfangled Japanese automatic heinie-washer and blowdryer terlet seat. So, we find the current shortage faintly amusing but of no great consequence. Anyway styptic is the thing. The sting helps you to learn not to cut yourself.

Got 3 vials of styptic powder off Amazon for around 5 bucks. No more TP to stop bleeding.

LOL reference is to the ancient practice of applying a dot of TP to a shaving nick. Styptic is a better treatment.

Sometimes it's not just the toe or heel you got to worry about. Especially a SR newbie.

Made some strops yesterday. They are on the site now. Not exactly newbie strops, but let's just say they are economy models. More nicer ones in a few days.

I see no other 'special' as this. It's a bad scene as it is.

Ok some people do come in saying they have tamed or " fixed" the problems with GD razors. In the benefit of the doubt unless I have tried the persons razor I don't go around saying they are not telling the truth. There are plenty of razor mod competitions where people mod the GD razors and there have been some truly excellent razors made out of those cheap chinese razors... I do not believe that all the people who say they fixed them are not being honest... Why would someone knowingly destroy their reputation over those type of claims.anyway this is starting to bore me so have a great night everyone.

I will say his, you can shave with a butter knife if you do a bunch of mods, my point is WHY? Why buy the damn thing if it’s already screwed up? For the same money you can buy a razor that DONT have the issues. I don’t care if it’s Gold Dollar, or Lead Pennies, buy something starting out that doesn’t have issues.

Typically it’s a guy who decided to get into shaving, and along comes Mr. gold dollar selling, the guy could do better and most suggest they do as in, hey don’t bother with the geometry and terrible scales and just buy an older , known correctly ground razor, hopefully honed buy a reputable seller, instead of an internet expert,( dr, Matt comes to mind) and grind the daylights out of the POS. So the advice to buy other than is sound, but I guess the ones pushing this would be the guy who marries an ugly woman and then sends her to the doctors to fix everything wrong! Wouldn’t it have been smarter to just marry the one you want.

Now unfortunately we now have another POS gold dollar thread. And to be honest I guess it got off wrong cause the guy just wants to sell something, it’s his right, but his experience from other forums has always created this reaction between selling them and the honing System hawked.
