mate i married an italian and have learnt that you NEVER tell the old man its easier to use a lighter hammer....he will just go and get a bigger one to show you how he can still keep up with the young people!
maybe if someone told mastri that he needs a few more helpers to make razors faster we would see some new stuff at SRD sooner!!

The beauty and elegance (not to mention craftsmanship) of his razors is that they are not mass produced. I think this man"s family has done this long enough to know that he would lose some of that if he "had more helpers".Having Fun Shaving

Every time I quickly scan the topics in the 'Video' forum and I see this one, my brain reads "Mastro Livi Dies."
All the letters are there, but just a little jumbled.
...that is all.

OK, why was he using a back-hone stroke on each stone prior to the normal edge-first stoke? I realize he is a master, but I am just curious. Thanks.

Thanked: 20Is Damascus steel harder/softer or just more attractive than carbon steel?
Does the use of borax in the steel (saw it added on another video) give it the characteristic variations?

I have to say that was very scary watching him slap that razor across his hand like that. If I tried to do that, I'd have no skin on my hand left!
