    Jees, first time I saw these vids on the tube I though he was some backwards italian fellow who didn't know a bit about razors... Guess I was a tad off...

    He could do with a smaller hammer though, no use to wear yourself out with a 3 pound sledge when half that and more heat would do a better job...

    it's kinda surprising how hard he slaps the razor down on the stones and strops.

    guess it works for him, though.

    I think I can see a Naniwa combination hone in his early progression. 800/5000
    then a Naniwa 2000
    and a Coticule.
    Last one is a translucent Arkansas

    Yeah, I just see that the 8000 is also yellow. would make more sense.

    Obviously the way he hones and strops works. I think the way most of us have been taught is just another way which is a lot harder to stuff up. If you watch is stropping carefully you will see that he doesn't roll the edge. Of course if I tried that I'm sure I would ruin the edge in no time.

    1- japanese stone 300/1000 orange/blue (MinoSharp)

    2- japanese stone 3000 yellow (MinoSharp)
