You can grind a lot of razors with a 4" wheel. You can grind from 5/8s to however big you want. The diameter of the contact wheel does not need to match the diameter of the hollow. I use my four inch wheel a lot.

Brilliant. I know I can move the blade up or down on the wheel for bigger or smaller blades I just wasn't sure on the hollowing angle below the spine if you understand. I'm awaiting some alox belts to be delivered before I can give it a test run. I think I might invest in some ceramic belts further on down the line. I've heard rave reviews. Just a little out of my budget at the moment and it would be good to get used to alox first. Make me appreciate the ceramics later on more!! I'm doing all my stock removal on a 1 inch grind stone at the moment, can take me 3 evenings to get anywhere near heat treat thickness.
