Another consideration.. I hate, hate, HATE the looks of those nails that they sell for pins. I dislike them so much that I re-pin any new razors that I buy. It's better to "make both ends" of the pins IMO. Of course, I'm sure that there are some people who like that look, once again it's a matter of personal preference. Look, I avoided using the term YMMV! Damn.
rs,

Thanked: 3164I hate them too, Tack!
Even the people in the factories that use them must hate them - I cannot believe the amount of hammering that has been given to some of these tacks because it was cut off too long. I have re-pinned a fair few and it is not uncommon for the pivot tack to be bent into almost a 'v' between the scales.
Coupled up with the huge thick friction washers they give a rather hulking look that suits precious few models, IMHO.
Regards,
Neil

Cool! Thanks all... This is my first kinda restore! I am keeping the original scales for now but i wanted to take pins off for ease while working on the blades rust and stuff... So its just getting cleaned and then repinned! For now! Might make some nice wooden scales for it when i get some time
