You may luck out for awhile!
The Oregon Knife Club’s website also notes that clear or light colored celluloid items appear to be more prone to this phenomenon. Why? It’s supposed that agents supplying the color to darker celluloid batches act as binding agents making the substance more chemically stable and thus thwarting, or at least slowing down, the deterioration process.
But they go on to say that they all will rot. The nature of the beast.

Keep it dry and out of the sunlight. It's 2 biggest enemies are wet and heat.

I'd recommend keeping it exposed to open air, not trapped in a box. The worst case i've dealt with, came in original box, which certainly enhanced the concentration of the corrosive elements from the plastic.

yea, there is no known way to guarantee protection. The best bet is keep it in a cool, dark and dry environment and keep your fingers crossed and check them often.

when you say dry I hope your talking about moisture. I've been keeping it well oiled and in a coffin. right now it's in the gun safe. as far as heat I try to keep my home a toasty 62 degrees year round.

Keeping a razor safe and rust free? Well, you must be talking about one of my favorite accessories, the silicone treated cotton straight razor sleeve:
