Had this W&B American Razor that was so pitted it was ugly as hell. Also the bevel that had been thried to set on it was so out of line it made the blade even worse. So today I took it to the buffer and tried to take out most of the pitting. Got 90% gone. Still a few left. But then try to set the bevel and its taking some time. More time than I have today but its looking much better.
The first pic wasn't a good pic for comparing but you can see some of what I'm talking about. The second one is where I'm at at this time.

When I stopped a few minutes ago looking at the time, I'm thinking I might need to put a bit of a smile in the edge so no reason to keep going on the edge right now.
Its not perfect but it will be a LOT better than it was. I hated to have to take out the eagle and words on the blade face but there was no way around it. You can slap me down latter for doing it.
Happy Birthday Mike, one good looking razor now that the pics worked :) my Sis has a bday the same day. Good looking work gents.
Bought myself a Wade and BUtcher that was totally destroyed, chips in the blade and a massive crack running almost to the spine. But it had nice scales which I wanted. Fast forward to me cracking the scale as I cut the pin. Ugh. Now I get to try repairing a scale cracked at the pin.
What do you guys do with ruined blades? BTW
