At least you'll get to enjoy the whole blade.[emoji41]
More like the other half of the blade..!

Mines no more than a SE razor
Fantastic razors! I like how the tail on the one is longer than the blade on the other!
That ones my Joseph Rodgers, cutlers to their royal Majesty.
A find in the wild to boot.
Hand sanding on this IC Vincent. I'm really excited about this blade because it's so unique and it's in really good shape. I also have a thing for older French wedges. I thought about working it with some 600 greaseless, but the lines are just too crisp on this one. There's a crack in the bone wedge and I'm debating wether to disassemble and repair with outbacks baking soda method(worked great on my guitar nut). I don't do a whole lotta hand sanding these days, but nothing short of perfection will do for this blade. Attachment 247180
Honing up the Dorp King.. Took about 10 laps with slurry on the Chosera and she bit right into my nail. Nothing like a 3 minute bevel.

Well, finally got started moving my razors and such home from my office.
Got to get the razors stored and the cases off the wall....

Using some raggedy, yet clean and dry 'car wash' towels. Laid out a row in the middle, scotch taped them down...
Attachment 247217
Folded half the towel over, same stuff.....
Attachment 247218
Folded the other half over, rolled it up, duct tape. G for German! :D
Attachment 247227
Gonna take a while. Look at all the dust in there! One reason to take this stuff home, this has to be the dustiest place on the planet!

Very nice Tom, nice collection of German razors.
Yeah buddy, that's what I call a right and proper rotation.
So how long have you been collecting now.
inquiring minds want to know !!
Wow, super cool Tom. What the heck is the round thing off to the side with the barber stripes? Looks like it has some blades in it too.
Gorgeous Tom...lots of work to be moving things about.
Great collection, and it looks like you could easily open the case and select a razor anytime you wanted a particular one.
That's the one downside to the Harbor Freights razor chest, you can't eyeball your collection....
Looks like one on the wall, in the third pic. Top right.
:dropjaw:
sharptonn that has to be one of the coolest displays I have ever seen! Super jealous right now, thanks for sharing :D
Thanks, guys! The displays are English, American, and German, top to bottom.
Going to add another one as I get the ball rolling.
Yeah there is the razor table, the razor clock, and a little 'barber shop' , mug display, etc.
Cleaning it all up and slowly moving it home to an empty room....Red carpet!

Started the madness about 2002 or so, outback. About a third of those shown are shavers, with a 24 razor rotation at home, they go in and out. Also some sets, pairs, etc. My goal is to cull some repetitious stuff, display most everything, shave with it all.
Watch the classifieds, now! ;)
I love the table, are the razors under lighted glass?
Very cool displays!
Fnishing up this Mash Brothers Pond Works with a nice
etch. You never really can know how oxidized Bakelite is going to react to sanding. I've had some that are very brown clean up in a few minutes on the polisher. Then there are others, like this one, that are showing light oxidation but you've got to sand them for days to see any progress. I know there are different kinds of hard rubber materials, but they're all "Bakelite" to me. Not my favorite task, but well worth doing right. I'll get this one on the stones after the kids go to bed.
It has been an evolution, John. The bottom of the table is the lower part of the Theo Kochs table in the foreground. 3 of them and stood about 4 feet. Funky!
The other two sterilizer cabinets were shortened about 8-12 inches. Rotted at the bottom, so work better as tables. All are laminated from my serious millwork neighbor. All old inside!
The guy literally bent the plywood for the table. Most impressive. I had the glass from another old table.
Anyhoo, it was originally a cell-rot incubator.
Now, the shaving brush smashed in the middle hides a computer fan which blows down in the bottom.
There are 3 'sink strainer' inlets around the outer bottom. They hold a bit of Zeolite topped with a fiber filter.
Made some circulation! I have long-since done away with the rope lights. Installed the LED ones now.
LED in all the cabinets as well.
Once I tossed the culprits, all has been fine in there! :D
The challenge now is to install it all in a small, odd-shaped room. :banghead:
So, John.... Staying put?
I have been wondering about a few of our members. We do have a few in that area. Also I think that 1/2 of the Province of Quebec is there for the winter as well. I wonder if all the Canadians just went to their Northern Home. Scary stuff.
Wow sharptonn! That's got all the makings of your own straight razor/barbershop museum. I love it! That's such a cool collection and it shows a lot of class. That table is awesome, the whole room is awesome!
Sharpton,,,, are the display razors coated in a lubricant to prevent rust?
Brylcreem we got! An example of things needing cleaning!

Sharptonn. How are the blades mounted on the clock? Magnets?
Looks like that Man Cave is missing a little Pinaud !! :beer2:
