Took the Henckels apart to sraighten the wonky scales.

Replaced the junk collars, with SS domed washers and flat under washers. And installed wear washers between the tang and scales. (Didn't have them when I pulled it apart)
Sand the scratches from the scales with 1000 WD, and oooo steel wool, and polish with star brite scratch remover.
Pinned it with brass rod.
Another for the rocks.[emoji5]
And next in rotation.[emoji6]

Works with horn fer sure as well. Tom walked me through my first old horn restore. Wicked in like lead into a copper joint.

Outback Mike,
what is the big domed hole in your vice for? The Henckels is going to make you a fan of the brand. They are top shelf. I may have a slight bias. YMMV but not much!

It was a quickie!!!
The heat lamp, softens the scales real quick, then flatten them on a piece of corian counter top . (pattened) works with horn , and a sprits of water too.

I believe its to flare tubing.
Its got two other holes for holding round objects, the one holds 1/16 rod, without leaving marks.

The vise came from Harbor Freight for $24. It has two jaws one has teeth one is smooth, which can be rotated 360 degrees, as well as the base which is clamped to the table

Its a pefect vise, for razors.[emoji6]
I like using the larger of the two small holes, for drifting out pins I've drilled out ( helps support the scales, and directs the pinn out.

That is a slick little vise. Next time I am on the mainland I will have to keep my eyes open. Harbour Freight is a little ways from my place, but ya never know.
