The only thing truly organized is the diaper boxes with turning blanks, and my tower of sand paper in labelled grits.
Only reason I HAD to organize it is I rip my paper into small squares when on the lathe. All my paper from 1000-2500 looks exactly the same. Started getting pieces I had no idea what grit they were. Rip a piece of, stick it back in the appropriate slot.......Everything else gets set down in the closest bare spot.
Well I broke out my little table top belt sander and carefully worked the saw marks out. I then started with some 220 3M Wet and Dry then 400 and then 800 and then a quick run on the CrOx on my buffer.
Yes if you look really careful you can still see some sand scratches but as I said I'm not going to get anal about polishing as it will be a tool that will get banged and clanged around.
With that said I will probably polish it up really nice once it's done/that's the best it will look for a long time.
The fork next to it is next in line for new handles. It also came from my aunt, however it is hand wash only as it's high carbon steel.

Still a bunch of cut tiles to lay in the front hall along the edges, but I dont feel like opening anything else tonight but a Bohemian..
Cheers men. Hope you are all ready for the new (short up here) week!
Thanks Mike, I've ordered another 1.5" by 1.5" by 6" piece (you can special order 12" lengths) of the same Molten Metal to make new handles for the other fork from Woodturningz and asked for it to be cut into 3/8" blanks with a 'clear cut' to start off so I have a clean surface as much as possible. The cut charge was only $3!!!! The 'spindle' is less than $10. I find the shipping charge reasonable.
Guys!! If you are interested in working with this material and need it cut down for you; give Woodturningz a call and ask for Fritz. Their huge band saw does a nice job with a minimum of waste from the saw's kerf!
I don't have any kind of relationship with Woodturningz. I do not receive any kind of 'kick back'. I have simply found a great product supplied by Very Helpful Providers.
