Started on this pair set of Rubberset 400 - #3 & #4. Knot removed and a quick polish to see any issues. After a week of soaking with penetration oils and no luck of unscrewing the ferrule I went looking. The fix was heating ferrule in hot water (way too simple Har!) and it came right off.
Now to mirror finish the surface. Polished aluminum has such a unique feel to it for me plus it is really shiny. ;)

You have fixed the problem now - but I found that soaking for 10 minutes or so in lime remover and hot water was all that was needed. I re-knotted four doing this with no problems after applying some penetrating spray after lime removal. By the way, I kept the original long boar knot in one of mine - it's a great brush and makes a really great change from my usual badgers.
I got some of this horn and it is by far my favorite... I did have to make sure that both sides of the horn had the lightness to it, I thought it would look off if the color scheme wasn't close...

Dafonz6987, I love the streaked horn. It gives it character! Great work. :tu
Another shorty for a friend...

Gluing up a brush handle blank. Amboyna burl in the middle, sandwiched between African Ebony.
That's one blank. 1 3/4 X 1 3/4, and 2 1/4 inches tall.
Cleaning up and putting back together a lovely Chicago razor simply called Regal. Looks like celluloid scales, but ivory tang covers. Nice jimp work on it as well.

CHRISTMAS !!!!!!!!!
Took apart the only razor of a seven day set, wich happens to be the wendsday blade.
Straightend the scales,(blade was dragging against the warped scales) cleaned the blade a little, cleaned and polished the scales, pinned back together, and honed for my birthday morning shave tomorrow.

Lost a little etch, and gold wash from the tang, but it's to be expected. The blade is a FRI-KO from Germany.
Happy Birthday! Also I can't help but notice the case. I love original cases for seven day set, even when the sets are gone.
It's too bad the zipper is out of it. I hope a friend of mine (owns a canvas shop) can stich me a new one in.
The case is made of a thin leather and is in decent condition.
Nice razor to have your birthday shave with Mike. Happy Birthday bud. I'm right behind you. Mine's on the 25th. Will be a Belfast shave for me on that morning.
Cheers.
What is that..? [emoji53]
A shot of Jameson in my coffee and a Bell razor from Belfast Ireland in my hand.
:tu
No, just the classic blend. It is going in coffee after all,, ;)
Happy Birthday, outback!
I did the sanding on this M.Cutler Son & Chambers Straight Razor in a few hours. About as shiny as I want it. Not going to buff it either. I still need to take the blade off the scales and do clean up the tail and repin and redo the wedge. I can't wait to have it completely done and honed and then shave with it.

Only 2 pics will load...... Will try again later.
Thanks!
In time I'll clean the scales up. Give them a light sanding and a buff.
I agree.... I haven't seen another that looks like it.
I'm sure some people have some similar to it out there.
Fixin up a set of scales that were gifted to me, thanks Sharpton . (Tom)
They were a little bent, crack in wedge hole.
Flattened the scales, lightly scuff the repair areas with steel wool, clean area with denatured alcohol and apply 2 coats thin, 1 coat medium CA.
If all goes well with the repair ( dont see why ), I will mate it with a Blue Devil blade that I've restored an reblued some time back.
It's been waiting a long time for a new set of shoes , and these are perfect for it
