I have some I soaked 'til white of ivory. Want to put some patina evenly back in, I think.
Have a used tea bag and a filter of used coffee in the freezer.

Lookin' good Matt. They look like bone to me when I first looked at post 3757. I then looked at the link & they are definitely bone with the small dark lines in the grain.
I'm working on putting my masonic Frederick Reynolds back together, then I have more razors & horn scales that need repair.
So last night i threw about 2 tbs of light roasted barley in a few inches of water and let it cold steep overnight. This evening ill strain out the grains and drop the bone in there. The barley produces a very coffee like color. Had some darker malts laying around but didn't want to over stain. Home brewing meets razoring..
The drunken blade.
Here is one finished yesterday. Pitting left on the blade as it is too hollow to remove much steel. Satin finish with a bit of crocus mirroring. Tang and spine are mirrored a bunch more. Before and after
