I love it when a plan comes together.

Working on this one I found for $7. It had some rust and stains that I cleaned off yesterday. Tonight I'm going to try and set a bevel. It has a smile that I like but have not honed one before. It will be good training for me

That might be a tough one Redfisher, not just because of the little smile but getting past that ugly pitting on the toe that I can see on the backside could be brutal. Be prepared to take care of the one over several sessions. Kind of like what Kenny Rodgers said you gotta know when to walk away.
One layer of tape
Start with two....Take one off after it comes together!
Turns out the blade has a bow to it. I spent a little time "adjusting " the spine so she will lay flat. More work required...
Once again, Benz, thank you for sharing your Mother's recipe for Bay Rum after shave.
My batch has produced a fragrance that has a wonderfully strong cinnamon note. The scent
fades very quickly after application, which his fine by me as I never have liked overpowering a
room with a scent as soon as I walk in.
My variation on the recipe...
I've always ground my own (fake) allspice using a reduced amount of cloves. This allows the
cinnamon to be the predominate flavor. I used a spicer to grind the dry ingredients to create
more surface area to contact the liquid. Grinding the cinnamon stick is probably what caused
the heavy cinnamon note. I know I used the wrong type of bay leaves, but the vodka and rum
seems to wash the bay leaf scent out. I will call this batch my Cinnamon Splash.
As soon as I can find the right bay leaves, I will try this recipe again. I've already picked up a
small container of (true) whole allspice. I will also not be using the spicer this time.
I'm glad you like it Panama and I'm glad you are trying out different blends. I'm thinking of making a batch with some vanilla using a real vanilla bean. I get most of my spices from Penzy Spices. They have fresh and super strong spice. A google search should find them, if not let me know and I'll get a link for you.
