Wipe it all off with a towel, same way. Strop on the towel. Wash hands. In a decent environment, no issues for many many years. It's a dry lube and protectant. Supposed to be wiped-off.

I received this "Robeson Shur Edge " recently and it had never been honed. I figured it would be an easy hone. Well I was wrong. Tried to set the bevel on a 1k Naniwa but wasn't getting anywhere. The middle of the blade on one side wasn't completely in contact with the stone. So I backed up to a 600 DMT for a while and am not quite there yet. I'm going to go to the 325 DMT since at this point I think the only solution is to remove material until it starts to even out. I have high hopes for this blade since it is New York steel but thankfully didn't pay much for it.

I don't believe that the DMT 325 is going to be your friend. Have you tried the 1" thing? Give that a try with one layer of electrical tape. See here:

Cuda speaks the truth. Save that thing till you get some hands-on. The wrong pressure, the wrong way will create more issues as you go along. JMO
Thanks for the tip. I am using tape, 1 layer of 700, just wanted to say that. As to the 1" line I can see this working on the toe end but not sure about how to address the heel with this method. Or maybe I can... I'll give it a try. Thanks guys
