Thanks gents.
I hear you shaun. Work, and the wife tend to take away a lot of otherwise shop time.
One, or both of those are necessary I suppose although early retirement looks better and better all the time. ;)

Beautiful work Mike! You've got a very classy and original set there.
Sweet work on that blade / brush combo Mike. Well done!

You went over the top with that set my friend.
Looks absolutely amazing, great job
Since moving into my new house back in August, all my brush handles have been turned with the lathe on the floor, and all my tool edges have been maintained with a slip stone. Yesterday, our boss sent us home at 9am, so I made good use of my time. I was able to get some walls and cabinets up, that I got from work after doing a kitchen renovation, as well as putting a work bench together and getting my grinder and lathe back in proper action. I also set up a new jig for my grinder, that will help me do fingernail grinds on some of my tools. Also put on a second aluminium oxide wheel onto the grinder. Now all I need is to finish the walls with plywood, get my electrician friend to put some lights up and get everything livened up. For now I'll continue feeding my grinder and lathe with an extension cord.

I was also able to glue up a blank for a future handle, Cocobolo and Moose antler.

I also decided to throw that plywood blank I glued up at work onto the lathe and whip out a quick handle. Came out exactly as I'd hoped.

Very Nice,, Ty
Shops getting legs Andrew, awesome!
That plywood brush turned out sweet, and I'm looking forward to seeing the moose antler set up...
Cheers.
Your shop looks like it's coming together well. It will be awesome and well worth all the time and sacrifice in the end.
Even with all the disarray I see a cocobolo and moose antler project that sounds very familiar!
Great work Andrew!

Thanks Pete. Ya, flattened one side of each antler, and one side of the wood and then glued them together. Now I need to put both pieces on the lathe, drill both blanks, flatten both blanks and put them together with a dowel running down it's length. Hope to do that tonight.
