Re cracked Ivory this stuff sounds interesting. Tho it does not not add strength it may help prevent dirt getting into the crack:
Captain Tolley’s. Finds & fixes leaks. Formerly Creeping Crack Cure
Repairs are made..!!
A drop of thin CA, to hold the crack together, lightly sanded, blue painters tape on the outside of the scales, ( keeps off overflow of epoxy) a coat of epoxy on each scale, a layer of glass, squeegee out excess epoxy, repeat. Let dry till tomorrow evening.

Then on to removing the knot, and cleaning up the Ever-Ready brush. It was a lot easier once the top finally came loose and I could unscrew the handle from the cup. And yes...its a bone handle. [emoji106]

Super cool brush, threaded bone, should turn out very nice!
Now Thats What I Call A Very Productive Day,,,,,,,,,, Very Nice Job!!!!!Well Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ty
I wonder what kind of a bone would be so thick that you could get that big of a slab. Yowza that mush have been a really big leg. I have never taken note of a bone brush handle before. You have my attention.
The scale repair is also piquing my interest. G-10 formed in place. I wonder if you added Ivory dust to it if it would look more like ivory, I suppose you sould use bone dust for the same effect.
Oh yes added to the back as well. Its coming slow but sure I have added a bit here and there palming it and going slow. Im pretty excited to see it done and use it. I think my linen is ready but im holding off until the leather is done. Sharptonn has been helping me along in the actual strop section. I really need to get back to scale project but I get distracted easy. Squirrel!
Ahhhh. It ain't that big. Could easily be made from a leg bone, from two legged or four.
Its 1" wide, so the thickness of the walls of the bone would be around 1/2" thick, I would imagine.
The base is a cap made of same bone.
