Tonight is honing 101.
A new member to the forum ( ChefErick ) is coming over for some help.
And close friend who is a chef as well, is coming to suprise Erick. ( I found out they used to work together)
Should be a good night, full of kitchen stories and laughs.
Cheferick has been sent home with alot of new knowledge and understanding of honing, the importance of magnification, and his TI razor honed to pefection.Quote:

Hes a great guy thats been bitten by the same bug as the rest of us.
Its goona be fun, watching and helping his abilities grow, cause he'll be back for more, since we live quite close to eachother.
Also found he's been trespassing on some of my hunting grounds, so I might as well take him hunting with me sometime, and help him find some good vintage steel to add to his collection [emoji6]
It feels good to pass the ball.
Would hate to take it with me when I'm gone. But its not all my knowledge.... It's all of ours, here on the forum combined, I just did it by a one on one. So thanks to all out there, for the info I have passed on tonight with cheferick. [emoji482]

Thank you for making time to help with my honing! That TI shaves great now,THANK YOU!!!! When I got Home I couldn't wait till morning to shave so I prepped up and started in on what became a wonderful shave. I cant wait till my honing comes close to the edge you laid on that razor. I'm looking forward to getting the hones we talked about, they really felt smooth, and less waiting to hone with them. I'm still going to work with the coticule but I think it will take time to understand how both of them work and feel. Natural stones are a different animal the the synthetic. Ill keep in touch, having someone this close and more interested in straights then I am is great. I learned a lot in the six or so hours we talked, can't wait to learn more.
